The DSC-HX9V gives out some pretty good pictures which can be attributed to the high quality G-series lens. Color reproduction is great as well although it does have the familiar drawback of a P&S camera, and that is mild over-saturation. However most users will prefer this as the camera will produce more striking looking pictures. Color balance is also very consistent.

Final Words

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V has great optical quality; other positives include a high resolution panorama mode and good quality. Downsides are a scant user interface and heavy noise levels. Overall this is a pretty good P&S alternative to a fully fledged DSLR unit.
